1965 Plymouth Belvedere II

This is my 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II. I have owned the car since 1988. Since then, it has been transformed into a drag only car.

1965 Plymouth Belvedere II

It runs a .055 over 440 block with Ross 12.5 to 1 pistons, stock rods and crank, Ultradyne .640 lift flat tappet cam, crane roller rockers, everything is blueprinted and balanced. On top is an M1 Dominator manifold with a 4500 Dominator that flows 990 cfm. through MP Stage 6 heads. Ignition consists of a MP mechanical drive distributor with Gold Box and matching coil. A Turbo Action Trans, converter and shifter, transfers power to a 742 rear with 4:56 gears, spool and axles, 11.5 Goodyears on Centerline 10.5 inch Auto Drag wheels.

Best ET to date; 10.37 @ 127 MPH with a best 60' of 1.44. For 2001, a Dana 60 rear and porting the 6 heads are in the works.

I run Mod ET at New England Dragway along with Nostalgia events and Mopar meets.

Update June 2002

The 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II now has a 499" stroked 440 in it.

The Plymouth also has Cal-Trac Bars and Mono leaf springs. It's still on Goodyear 11.5 X 30" with 4:56 gears in a Dana rear.

Best time to date is a 9.84 and 133.92 mph with a 1.37- 60' time.

The Mopar's body is all steel except for the hood and front bumper, which are fiberglass. No lexan, real glass. The weight with me in the car is 3400 lbs.
Thanks, Bill!

Beauty and big block Mopar speed, what more could one ask for!

Re Update: I see you are keeping up the great work and obviously having fun, too!  smile!
