1962 -1965 A Body Resources
There were very very few Web resources about the early A - Body Mopar platforms on line when the 1962 - 1965 Mopar Web site went into operation in 1997. Fortunately, since that time, a lot a good early A - Body information has arrived on the web. Rather than duplicate, or imitate, we'll provide links that you may use to head over and check them out yourself.
Here are some links to resources both on the 1962 to 1965 Mopar Web Site and elsewhere on the Web. Some of the older links are probably broken as people delete or change file locations and do not leave a forwarding page. After you visit off-site, don't forget to come back to the 1962-1965 Mopar web site!
Mopar A Body Vehicles and Web Sites
Lancer
Counterpoint: "1962 Lancers are every bit the A-bodies that '62 Valiants are, since they're identical save for minor trim and
styling differences and all underbody components are identical to '63-'66 components. The precursor to the A-body, if the label must be applied to any vehicles, would be the '60-'61 Valiant and Lancer, which used many different undercar components (balljoints, torsion bar adjustor setups, A-arms, steering box, pitman arm, idler arm, drag link, strut rod, engine mounts, transmission mounts -- all different from the '62-'66 or '62-'72 (depending on which component) setup." Dan Stern from Daniel Stern Lighting
Editor's note: We'd hoped to have more on the early A Body identification issue. Dan was looking into his references to get more data. Check back from time to time and we'll update this page when we have the information from Dan.
Dodge
Note: Joseph Newhouse's nice Dodge Dart Web Site at dodgedart.org covered the A Body Darts produced from 1963 to 1976, which of course includes 1963 to 1965 Darts! Newhouse's site also had a 1960 - 1962 Dart section. These Darts are, of course, not A body cars. Coverage of the 1962 B Body Dart is elsewhere on the 1962 - 1965 Mopar Web site.
Sadly, dodgedart.org was offline as Joseph Newhouse passed away in mid 2005. We'll miss you and your Web site Joseph!
Update: Joeys Dart site was again online as of May 4, 2006!
