1965 Plymouth Barracuda

January 2009 Mopar of the Month

Bruce B. writes from Victoria BC Canada: I have been working on this Plymouth Barracuda for over 16 years. front of 1965 Plymouth Barracuda

When we first brought the A-body Mopar home it was an ugly Robin’s Egg Blue.
The Plymouth had been brush painted inside and out and the interior was in sad shape.

My color of choice for this car was exactly the same as the one my Dad drove home
as a demontrator from a Vancouver, Canada Mopar dealership.

Fortunately the 225 CI slant 6 only had to be awakened after all these years.             slant 6ix motor in 1965 Plymouth Barracuda

I have been a MOPAR fan since childhood as my Dad sold them most of his life. In fact, he drove one home as a demonstrator like the pictured Barracuda.

I also own a 1965 Valiant Custom 100 (mom’s old car). That Plymouth has been in the family for 40 years and has only 80,000 mls on the slant 6; the body style is very similar to the Cuda. I do look forward to showing the black Barracuda alongside the Red convertible.
