1962 Chrysler Newport

Kalle writes from Finland: Our project is a 1962 Chrysler Newport, 361 big block with pushbutton TorqueFlite.

The Chrysler was not used for about 10 years when in the USA. The Mopar has been in Finland three years now; it was registered in the summer of 2013.

The sun took a toll on the inside and the outside of the Mopar. My wife will sew a new interior in the summer of 2014 and I will put in a new carpet. We are not sure about painting. We appreciate the Chrysler’s original look. But in Finland, under the circumstances, the paint will not remain like that for long. 1962 Chrysler Newport rear passenger side

Update March 2014

The seats are finished. We did the same look as the car is outside. I am very pleased with my wife’s sewing skills.

April 19: The door panels are finished. I had to change both front floor pans. Next, new carpet will go in place. Benches have been ready to install for some time.
