1965 Dodge Custom 880 Station Wagon

For Sale

Randy writes from Vacaville Ca 95687: I have a rare version of a 1965 Dodge Custom 880 station wagon. What makes the Mopar very unique is the factory installed 4-speed on the floor behind the 383 2 barrel 270hp engine. My research indicates that only two 383 2bbl 4-speed on the floor 2 seat wagons were built. With 78,000 miles, this rust-free two seat C-body still has all original equipment incorporated, along with 96.9 cubic feet of cargo space: power steering, custom light package, saloon windows and an electric rear window that still works. I've put on new brakes, new clutch and pressure plate, rebuilt the original 2bbl, and walnut grain appliqué, full length and tailgate.

People who see this Dodge say they did not know Mopar made 4-speed on the floor Dodge wagons. This was an economical engine / transmission combination with the big block to haul a boat with the family and cargo for a vacation! Most likely these Mopars were custom ordered.

I have already done a lot of the restoration work on the Dodge. I am glad I saved the life of this Dodge. The wagon will always be unique and maybe one of only a few that will survive. You can drive the car anywhere. The Mopar was built at a time when Dodge changed designers to try and compete in the new world of big block good-looking Chevy and Pontiac wagons. The Dodge Custom 880 was the top of the trim line for Dodge in 1965.

Being so unique, the Dodge needs a home from a Mopar lover who understands and appreciated the potential of this Dodge Custom 880 Station Wagon. The Mopar is not an investment type Cuda car. But for the right person, you can't go wrong.
