1965 Dodge Coronet

Four door to two door sedan conversion!

Neal Zimmerman writes: This Mopar started on the assembly line as a four door 1965 Dodge Coronet with slant six power. 1965 Dodge Coronet, driver side, front

The Dodge is amazingly solid for being a Michigan car; I can only guess it must have never been driven in the snow.

The Mopar made its way out to Oregon through its second owner who was using it as a daily commuter around town and for summer road trips to Alaska.

I bought the car for a good price, becoming the car’s third owner. 1965 Dodge Coronet, driver side, rear

With the online help of Wally Breer (of the 1962-1965 Mopar Web Site’s Mail List Clubhouse), a destroyed 1964 Dodge Polara for a parts car, and a lot of careful measuring and welding, I transformed the four door into a 2 door post ride.

My long term goal for the Dodge is to use it as an A990 tribute car. 1965 Dodge Coronet, driver side, front

The Dodge is an ongoing process and now I am in the process of doing bodywork in prep for painting it dark blue metallic.

Part of me doesn’t want to paint it at all: I like its rough look,
reminds me of Frankenstein.
