Hello Everyone. This is my '65 New Yorker. His name is Ramble.

I have no idea where that name came from. When my mom bought the car "Blue Ramble" was painted on both sides of the car. We didn't really understand the "Blue" part, so we took that off and he has been Ramble ever since.

My mom bought this car for $750 from our neighbor when I was in sixth grade, and she game him to me two years ago for my 17th birthday. I think this is the best present I've ever had before!

Right now Ramble has 400,025 miles on him. He is a daily driver and I love to turn everyone's head in town! He has one last big trip from Corvallis, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington. Then, he will go on a long boat trip to my house in Honolulu, Hawaii. There, he will be completely stripped down and rebuilt inside and out.

There are only a few big problems with Ramble right now. As you can see, the trunk carpet needs to be replaced. The gasket blew out this winter when he wasn't being driven, and condensation built up. (Thank goodness my stereo was out!) Also, There is a dent in the back driver's side door that needs to be pulled out and there is a dent in the front passenger bumper where someone backed into me and drove off. Besides that, the body is really straight. I have all of the trim too.

I am currently looking for the original air cleaner and some other misc. parts.

I don't know quite yet what I am going to do when I rebuild my baby, but I will keep you all in touch!

Enjoy!

Great going, Sara!

Only 400,000+ miles? That big block is just getting broken in! :-)

Good luck with the move and restoration! Keep us posted, please! .

Aloha! :-)
