1964 Plymouth Fury

And Other Mopar Rides

John Vazquez writes: I am a Mopar fan from Puerto Rico who has been in drag racing since 1960: my first racing car was a 1958 Dodge with a 361ci.

But here is the rest of the story:

After the 1958 Dodge, I became the mechanic of the first super stock Plymouth 1963 max wedge in Puerto Rico.

Then the owner of the 1963 Plymouth purchased
the first funny car: a 1967 Dodge Charger
named Penetration.

With the Penetration Mopar we made two match races. We raced against the Rambler SST of Hayden Proffit and then against Fast Eddie Charman and the Mercury Cougar in Caguas Dragway. We changed the funny car from blower to injectors and became a B/A.

Later, I owned a 1963 Dodge Polara max wedge for few years.

That is the end of the story. . . .
