1965 Plymouth Belvedere I

My best buddy turned me on to your Web site and I wanted to pass along some shots of my ride. These were taken the last weekend in October of 01 at Milan Drag Way in Milan, Michigan.

It's a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere I, running a 528 CI crate HEMI with a 1964 Magnesium Race Cross Ram intake and dual 770 CFM Holley's. The rear end is a narrowed Dana 60 with a 513 gear, full spool, tied to a full race coil over 4 link suspension, 727 reverse manual valve body trans, with a 4800 stall converter. Needless to say I race this car, and love pulling the front wheels off the ground every run. The motor has only about 15 passes on it.

I'm still tweaking and fine tuning however my best run to date has been a 10.81 ET in the quarter at just over 122 MPH. [* Editor's note: see update, below.]

I live just outside of Dallas, TX, belong to the Dallas Mopar Club, and race locally about 7 or 8 times a year. This year I'm also going to take it to the Mopar Nationals and race there too.

Hope you enjoy my ride.

I love your web site and sure to spend a lot more time there now that I know about it. Thanks for helping to keep these cars alive!

* Update! The tuning and tweaking paid off: as of mid April the Plymouth's best (documentable) quarter mile pass was 10.70 ET at 123.2 MPH!
GREAT ride C.J.!

Thanks for the nice words about the '62 to '65 Web site, too.

The place is much improved with your Hemi Belvedere among the virtual iron here!

Keep having fun with your '65!   smile!
