1965 Plymouth Belvedere

John writes:

Greetings from southern Oregon.

I chased an older gentleman 11 years to buy a (like new) 1965 Belvedere and we became very good friends over this 11 year period.

When it came time for my friend to sell me his car I asked him how much he thought he wanted for it.

When he gave me his answer you could have knocked me over with a feather. He said "give me $200.00 or less." I didn't quite understand this, so I made him repeat himself three more times.

I told him that I really wanted to be able to sleep tonight, and he kept quoting me the same price in the weird way he was stating it.

He then told me that he wanted me to have this car, because he knew that I would give it a good home!

I pay to store this Belvedere, and show it in California, and Oregon.

I drive it for recreation, and put the Dodge right back in storage when I'm done.

The interior, trunk, and under the hood look just like the rest of the car: 95,000 original west coast miles, and I'm the third owner.

The /6 powered engine runs like new: it does not leak, or burn a drop of oil, (I use Mobil 1 10w30).

Great car and great story John!

Help us make friends is what these Mopars do very well.

And, as you found out, friendship is beyond monetary measure.

Keep up the good stewardship of the Plymouth!   smile!
