Richard Nedbal writes: I bought this Dodge 10 years ago. Been working on it ever since. |
The body of the Mopar is a Dodge 440, 2 door hard top, wearing green (YM528 over Dupont chroma premier base coat) and white (late model Mopar Cool Vanilla). The front suspension features a tubular K-member and power rack by Magnumforce.
Well, the Mopar needed an engine. Then in 2009 I wrote a book called How to Build Max-Performance HEMI Engines. So I built the HEMI I wanted for inclusion in the book. |
The engine is a Chrysler HEMI 572 cubic inches; 725 horsepower, 675 Ft Lbs on 91 octane (see Dyno chart).
The motor is topped with an EFI System comprised of FAST XFI, XIM coil controller and dual throttle bodies. TTI headers direct the burned fuel through Magnaflow mufflers. |
The HEMI power flows through a beefed up pushbutton 727 TorqueFlite transmission with a TCI converter, 2800 stall into a rear end with ladder bars, Ford 9 inch, Detroit locker and 3.89 coil overs.
