1965 Dodge Coronet, front

Steve writes: This 1965 Dodge Coronet is a car we have had in my family for around 27 years now. The Mopar has the original paint and interior. My dad bought the Dodge from the original owner with a 318 in the engine compartment. Shortly after we pulled the 318 and dropped in an uncut 426 Stage 3 wedge. I think the Wedge was only in the Dodge for around a year when we found a 1964 Plymouth race car called Red Thunder. That Plymouth had this 12.5:1 Hemi in it since 1966, if I recall correctly. We swapped out the Wedge for the Hemi and it’s been this way 26 years now.

When my wife and I were dating we used to take the Dodge out to the local cruse spots and drag strips. Good memories and we are trying hard to pass them on to our kids. My dad passed away around 6 months ago and my dad passed the car down to me. We try to take the Mopar out as often as we can. (I need to find some seat belts so the kids can ride in it...lol.)

Anyway, thanks for hosting the 1962 to 1965 Mopar Website, it’s nice to see cars from the era.
