1964 Plymouth Savoy

February 2009 Mopar of the Month

John A. writes from Texas:  My 1964 Plymouth Savoy Hemi car came from CA with a tunnel ram, messed up clutch and tranny, full cage and so so interior. We have found an original manifold, 3116 Holleys, fixed the drive train mess, purchased an interior from Gary Ball, got rid of the CA look with the painted bumpers and had them re-chromed, added electric cutouts to the 3 1/2 inch collectors and continue to update. 1964 Plymouth Savoy Hemi
The block is a 1964 correct one, heads are current Mopar, with a set of K models in the garage. Crane ground a hydraulic roller with lots of duration and soft lift to make a real “Thumper” before Comp released their version. 1964 Plymouth Savoy Hemi

The Mopar is just a weekend cruiser.
