In 1971, I bought my second car -- a 1964 Dodge Polara 4-dr hardtop with 318 and push button automatic. For 21 years, through 2 engines and lots and lots of miles, this car was my main mode of transportation.
Finally, I decided it was time to move on to another car. With the family in mind, my dad and I drove around the big city looking for a van that would suit our needs. Then, as fate would have it, there she was: a 1964 Dodge Polara 2-dr hardtop with a for sale sign in the window.
Now, this car is my daily to work driver, while my first '64 Polara is my parts car. Some improvements are being made all the time to try and out pace the ravages of the road. I am now into my 28th year of '64 Polara ownership without a break.
