1964 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 'vert
Travis writes from Colorado:
My 1964 Valiant, Signet 200 convertable was bought by my father in 1964.
I love that car very much, as I grew up with the car.
It does now need some work to restore the Plymouth, but at the moment I'm in the US Navy away from
home. I'll be out in 2006, which is quite some time from now, but I am
trying to save up money to rebuild my car and go back to college once I'm out
of the military.
About 3 years ago I had the car running in good shape,
until one afternoon a careless driver ran a red light and sideswiped my
Valiant. The accident crushed the side door and I'm afraid might have bent the unibody
a little bit.
All of this is fixable with some work and a little bit of car love.
In time I will need to replace the driver side door, pop out some dents,
check and possibly tweek the unibody, paint the car, redo the interior with
vinyl and redo the canvas soft top.
Also I want to give the car more power, it has a slant six, but I have thought of replacing it with a
V-8.
Thanks, Travis!
Keeping it in the family, great! Yes, the car is fixable. Good luck with the restoration!
